Debass Surfaces was founded in 2015 on a simple and radical idea: that the choice of surfaces should not depend solely on commercial logic or the most competitive price lists, but on what a given project genuinely needs — in that context, with that light.
We are vertical specialists in the world of surfaces. Our work begins where the catalogue ends: in the research, testing and combining of materials that are rarely seen together — and that together work perfectly.
But material alone is not enough. That is why we bring it into relationship with the project and the space, accompanying the journey from selection through to application.
Our strength is a consolidated network of architects, interior designers, manufacturers, craftspeople and applicators, built up over time. Depending on the project, we work alongside the professionals already involved, or we directly activate the necessary expertise, building each time the most suitable path forward.
DEBASS is the point at which materials enter the project, align with the right expertise, and become space — with precision, coherence and control.
The Materials Library
The Debass materials library is not a sample collection. It is a laboratory of meaning.
Every material is taken out of the catalogue and put back into play: placed alongside, contrasted, combined with surfaces of different nature until real relationships emerge between colour, light and matter. Stoneware, wood, resin, stone, concrete, marble, steel, not displayed individually, but in composition. Because it is in the relationship between materials that the identity of a space is born.
But the materials library is not just about observation. It is a design tool.
This is where combinations are tested, compared and evaluated in relation to the space, the light and the application. This is where intuitions become decisions and choices find coherence.
At the centre are surfaces that in recent years have redefined contemporary design: innovative textures, tactile finishes, decorative elements that move between interior and exterior, between private and public space.
