Lakeside Residence
Parquet Selection
Scope: Interior surfaces, living and sleeping areas
Intervention: Parquet research and selection, material concept definition
For this lakeside residence, the project called for a surface capable of engaging with natural light and the surrounding landscape. The final choice fell on lightly whitened oiled oak planks, able to soften the tone without losing depth, grain or character.
Balancing Competing Preferences
The clients were oriented in two directions: a preference for a more textural parquet with warm tones, and a desire for a more balanced, contemporary finish. The process developed through progressive comparison, evaluating materials and furniture finishes to build overall coherence between surfaces and space.
Debass's Role
Definition of the material concept and management of the decision-making process, bringing together the client's requirements, the materials and the project. Surface selection based on light, use and the overall coherence of the space.
